About Our School
Agape Christian Preschool is an outreach ministry of Agape Church and Outreach Center. The founding pastors, Dick & Jeri Ingram, had the original vision for a church offering Christian education to all ages. The church, which began in 1981, quickly founded a K-12 Christian Academy and a Bible College. The preschool ministry took longer because we needed special facilities for younger children. The preschool vision became a reality in August 1992, as Agape Christian Preschool opened at 1401 Strawberry. Since then, we have offered exceptional care for all children from birth through twelve years.
Educational Philosophy
We firmly believe that children learn best when doing what comes naturally for them; therefore, play is a significant component of our daily curriculum. Age-appropriate learning centers are set up to offer experiences that allow each child to experience success through hands-on activities throughout the day.
Our educational philosophy centers around the idea that learning can and should be fun, that environments should be clean, healthy and safe, and that relationships should be warm, nurturing, and reciprocal. Above all, we believe our job is to support, encourage and undergird families in the difficult task of raising children in an uncertain world.
Our Goals
Our goal has always been to continue learning and growing, and we have enjoyed long-term collaborations with many outstanding local organizations including Initiatives for Children, Bright Beginnings & United Way Houston, Collaborative for Children, Texas School Ready, Children’s Learning Institute (CLI), Harris County Health Initiatives, the local, state and National Association for the Education of Young Children and Texas Rising Star. In addition, we are partners with local schools and colleges including Pasadena ISD, Deer Park, the University of Houston Clear Lake and San Jacinto Central Campus.
